JCIMS Saves $2.3M In Workload Transfer
One Aberdeen Proving Ground organization took a personnel reduction as a chance to reorganize.

A division of one organization saved approximately $2.3 million with a workload management transfer in the first half of this year.
The Product Management Team of the Meteorological and Target Identification Capabilities (PdM MaTIC) office responded aggressively to a personnel reduction in the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) in realigning the Joint Combat Identification Marking System (JCIMS).
The program was transferred from Warren, MI to APG in a one-year transition to Communications Electronics Command (CECOM).

"For the PdM MaTIC Management Team, the logical and most fiscally responsible choice was CECOM LCMC at APG," Maj. Thomas Stocks, Assistant Product Manager JCIMS Programs, said in a statement. "The realignment provided the perfect opportunity to consolidate all logistics support functions through a co–located support structure between the PM MaTIC Program Office and CECOM LCMC."
According to the statement, JCIMS is composed of three entities—Combat ID Panels (CIP), Thermal ID Panels (TIP) and Phoenix Infrared lights.

Aberdeen Proving Ground, itself, has seen a significant changeover from a post for soldiers to a post that enhances the equipment and intelligence used by soldiers.
The JCIMS transfer brings a five-year, $40 million contract aimed at long-term reductions to Aberdeen Proving Ground, the statement said.
