Police Arrest Two, Seize 30 Fraudulent Credit Cards

Aberdeen police arrested two out-of-state residents in connection with a fraud case.

police arrested two people from New York and found 30 fraudulent credit cards following an attempted theft at Tuesday.

In a statement to the media, police said a woman attempted to purchase several pre-paid phone cards with a credit card, but an employee noticed an issue with the card and questioned the woman. She left the store with the card, police said.

Using a description from the employee, police made a traffic stop in the area of MD Route 22 and Paradise Road around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. In the vehicle, officers discovered 30 credit cards, a laptop and a credit card re-encoder device.

Police said Kendra S. Gilbert, 21, of the 18000 block of Maugin Avenue in New York, and Presand R. Bell, 22, of the 18000 block 140th Avenue in New York, were arrested during the stop. They are being held at the Harford County Detention Center, facing numerous theft and fraud charges, Aberdeen police said.

The U.S. Secret Service is assisting in the investigation, police said.
