1 Maryland Beach Among 25 Best In The Country
Travel + Leisure ranked the most stunning beaches in the country. A Maryland beach made the list, and has gained other travel honors.
MARYLAND — Once Maryland beach was named among the 25 best in the country, according to a new ranking from Travel + Leisure.
The magazine cast a wide net to complete its best-beach roundup, selecting lakeside and coastal beaches with varying levels of amenities and scenery.
"Different criteria define the perfect beach for different people, such as the quality of the sand, the waves (or lack thereof), level of seclusion, public transportation and accessible parking, whether there's a boardwalk, activities, and even the amount of shade," Travel + Leisure wrote.

The list includes beaches in Hawaii, Florida, New York, South Carolina, and this one in Maryland:
Ocean City Beach
A groomed shoreline and lively boardwalk give this beloved East Coast beach a classic Americana vibe, the travel editors said.

"Eight miles of white-sand beach, plus a three-mile boardwalk packed with amusement park rides, bike rentals, shops, and delectable treats make Ocean City Beach a popular vacation spot. After a day of Jet Skiing, fishing, or boating, you'll find a variety of hotels, restaurants, and even a brewery on the boardwalk," Travel + Leisure wrote.

Ocean City was also named one of the best beach towns on the East Coast by Condé Nast Traveler and a top U.S. beach town by Thrillist, according to a city news release that touted its 10 miles of pristine beaches.
“We are thrilled to see our town highlighted by some of the most prominent publications and travel advisors in the industry,” said Tom Perlozzo, director of tourism and business development for Ocean City, Maryland Tourism. “We believe our town has so much to offer travelers, and we can’t wait to kick off another successful summer season.”
Additionally, Ocean City is nominated by USA Today’s 10best expert panel for 20 must-see places for a summer vacation. The public can vote once daily until voting ends at noon on Monday, May 13. The ten winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 22.
