OXON HILL, MD — Two dogs and a bird died and 25 people were left homeless after a fire ripped through an apartment building in Oxon Hill on Wednesday, NBC reported.

The fire broke out at the Livingston Terrace complex at around 9:30 a.m., quickly spreading to the roof, Prince George's County Fire and EMS told the outlet.

Two residents were hurt but the extent of their injuries is unknown, the outlet reported.
