Trump Threatens Military Troops In Baltimore Amid Fight With Moore

A war of words flared Sunday between Gov. Wes Moore and Donald Trump after the president said he might expand his military deployments to more Democratic-led cities. The threat came in response to an offer by Maryland's governor to join him in a tour of Baltimore, with Trump saying he might instead “send in the ‘troops.’” Moore responded with: "President Bone Spurs will do anything to get out of walking – even if that means spouting off more lies about the progress we’re making on public safety in Maryland."

Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Commercial Motor Vehicle On I-495

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night after the Suzuki motorcycle he was driving collided with a commercial motor vehicle on southbound Interstate 495 near the ramp to Saint Barnabas Road.

First Human West Nile Virus Case Of 2025 Confirmed In MD

Health officials confirmed that an adult living in Central Maryland has tested positive for West Nile virus, the state's first confirmed human case of 2025. The person is recovering from the infection, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

Police Release Name Of Teen Fatally Shot In Silver Spring

Authorities have identified the 17-year-old who was fatally shot in Silver Spring last week. According to Montgomery County police, officers responded to the 700 block of University Boulevard East around 11:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired and a person down in the roadway. When police arrived, they found Jaril Verde Murillo suffering from a gunshot wound.

School Bus Drivers Authorize Strike, Work Stoppage Possible Soon

School bus drivers said they will go on strike in Anne Arundel County if negotiations stall. The possible work stoppage comes as classes resumed for the year on Monday. Drivers said the strike is prompted by inadequate health insurance.

Security Guard Injured, Man Shot In Fight Outside Green Valley Marketplace

An armed security guard was injured during a fight Friday early afternoon outside the Green Valley Marketplace. According to the Howard County Police Department, a second security guard fired a gun at the man involved in the fight.

Fire Heavily Damages Home, Spreads To Surrounding Woods

A home was heavily damaged by fire Saturday and the state fire marshal's office is investigating the incident. Around 10 p.m. Aug. 23, Howard County firefighters were called to the 3100 block of Saint Charles Place in Ellicott City and found heavy fire throughout the home.

Woman Injured, 3 Cats Killed In House Fire

Three cats died in a house fire early Thursday morning and their 66-year-old owner remains in guarded condition at Shock Trauma. The resident told investigators with the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office that she turned on her oxygen concentrator in the living room, then heard a pop followed by a flash of fire.
