Alzheimer's Association offers free dementia care resources
Family caregivers of people living with dementia care access Alzheimer's Association information and resources that support caregiving.
Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease, with 127,200 living in Maryland. More than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care, including 247,000 Maryland caregivers. Affected individuals and families can find free resources on care at the Alzheimer's Association.Free in-person and online education programs cover various topics on care and brain health throughout the month. "We want to be the place people turn to when a diagnosis is received because no one should struggle to find needed resources," says Ilene Rosenthal, Greater Maryland Chapter program director. "Our 24/7 Helpline (800.272.2900) provides around-the-clock conversations with experts who answer questions and direct callers to local services."
