Celebrate Juneteenth At MD Black-Owned Restaurants

The CEO of Maryland's Restaurant Association says Juneteenth is a great opportunity to support local Black-owned eateries.

MARYLAND — Juneteenth is this Sunday and many communities in Maryland will host celebrations and ceremonies in honor of the holiday.

Maryland's Restaurant Association said one way residents can honor Juneteenth is to head out to Black-owned eateries across the state. The association has a list of more than 100 restaurants throughout Maryland.

“Juneteenth is a unique opportunity for Marylanders to celebrate the hundreds of Black-owned restaurants throughout our state,” said Marshall Weston Jr., Restaurant Association of Maryland President & CEO, in a news release. “Adding to the Juneteenth celebration of freedom, this is an important opportunity to recognize the achievements made by these restaurateurs, not just this weekend, but beyond.”
