CHARLES COUNTY, MD — A child died and another was injured Friday night when a bounce house they were in flew into a field at a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball game, officials said.

Charles County 911 received a call from the Regency Furniture Stadium shortly before 9:30 p.m. when a moon bounce house "became airborne due to a wind gust," officials said in a news release. The gust carried the bounce house approximately 15-20 feet in the air, causing children inside it to fall before it landed on a playing field.

Charles County EMS personnel stationed at the game immediately responded and rendered aid to the children, officials said.
