Fireworks Near Me: Ocean City July 4th 2024 Events

OCEAN CITY, MD — Independence Day is here, so it's time to find out where you can celebrate in Ocean City on July 4. Events include fireworks, concerts and other Fourth of July fun.

To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to what’s going on in Ocean City and a few other Maryland cities.

And if you plan to drive over to the shore for the day, you can check traffic for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge site. Delays are notoriously long, with traffic backing up for miles, on holiday weekends.

Here's what's in store this July 4 in Ocean City:

What: Simultaneous fireworks displays on July 4 will light up the beach and the bay.
Where: The northern display at Northside Park, 125th Street and the bay, will kick off at 8 p.m. with DJ musical entertainment followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The soccer field and walking path on the northwest side of the park will be closed from viewing.

On the south end of town, Ocean City’s Boardwalk will host a DJ on the beach at Caroline Street at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Parking:

Parking operations for the Inlet Parking Lot will stay the same for the holiday, Thursday, July 4, however; the parking rate for the Inlet Lot will increase to $5 per hour for the day. Visitors are reminded that parking is extremely limited at both fireworks locations and significant traffic delays are expected after both shows.

Bus Service:

Coastal Highway bus service will be available from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m. Patrons can ride for $4 for a ride-all-day pass and are reminded to anticipate delays and full buses due to event-related traffic and ridership.

The West Ocean City Park & Ride on Route 50 is another transportation alternative, offering free parking and $4 ride-all-day shuttle service downtown to and from Dorchester Street and St. Louis Avenue. The service running to and from the West Ocean City Park & Ride to Dorchester Street and St. Louis Avenue will be available from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Expect traffic delays and high rider demand at the West Ocean City Park & Ride. West Ocean City Park & Ride passes are also valid on Coastal Highway buses.

Finally, area boaters should note that on the evening of July 4, the span of the Route 50 Bridge will remain closed to marine traffic at the usually scheduled 10:25 p.m. and 10:55 p.m. opening times. The Route 50 Bridge will reopen for boaters at 11:25 p.m. that night.

What: Baltimore 4th of July Celebration (Concert and Fireworks)

Where: Multiple locations along the Inner Harbor Promenade

When: Thursday, July 4 (Live music by the Navy Band Commodores, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Wordsmith from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.)

Here's what's in store this July 4 in Annapolis:

What: Annapolis 4th of July Celebration (Parade, Live Music and Fireworks)

Where: Parade starts on Amos Garrett Boulevard, heads down West Street, travels the wrong way around Church Circle, goes to the end of Main Street and ends at the Market House. Fireworks are in the harbor.

When: Thursday, July 4 (Parade from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.)
