July 4th Fireworks, Parades, Celebrations Across Maryland

MARYLAND — Independence Day is approaching and communities across Maryland are almost ready to put on their fireworks shows, parades, and concerts to celebrate.

Many venues will host live music shows and food trucks before the grand finale of the fireworks show later in the evening. Be sure to schedule the weather before heading out to shows in case of cancellation, and check where parking is available, especially for larger shows that may fill up.

There will be viewing spots include the scenic overlook on Rt. 219, Wisp Resort, the lawn at Garrett College, McHenry Cove on Deep Creek Lake and in McHenry, as fireworks are usually launched from the top of Bear Claw Tubing Park at Wisp Resort out toward the water.

Start placing your blankets for this 20-minute fireworks show after 3 p.m. — fireworks are scheduled to begin around 9:20 at Lake Kittamaqundi. There will be live music and food trucks. There will be two live music bands on the Lakefront stage.

What: Baltimore 4th of July Celebration
Where: Multiple location along the Inner Harbor Promenade
When: July 4, 2022; 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be live music the Navy Band Commodores, the BSO and Wordsmith, in addition to a firework show from the Waterfront Promenade at 9:30 p.m.

What: Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival
Where: Middle Branch Waterfront, Baltimore
When: July 4, 2022; 1 p.m. to 10 p.m
At this festival there will be local, regional and national music performances, children’s activities, art making and a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. This year’s theme celebrates the bicentennial Harriet Tubman with special events, including historical re-enactments, exhibits, an elders’ fashion show, the presentation of Harriet Tubman: 200 Festival Honorees and more. The festival is free and open to the public.

Watch the fireworks show from your place along the Fishing Creek bridge, Kellam's field, Veteran's Memorial Park or at one of the waterfront restaurants or resort. The fireworks will be held at dusk.

Watch the fireworks display from the waterfront campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, which will launch after dusk. The CBMM’s campus and facilities will be open to the public free of charge starting at 5 p.m., and guests can bring their own food or drink. (There will not be food vendors or live music this year.)

• July 3: Sundae’s in the Park Independence Day Celebration - Sundae’s in the Park features a 7 p.m. concert by “Mike Hines & the Look” and a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

• July 5: American Idol Star Jay Copeland Performs at Northside Park - Jay Copeland — an American Idol Star and Salisbury native — will put on a free concert on July 5 at 8 p.m. There are no fireworks after this show

• July 5: Downtown on the Beach & Boardwalk - Music at the Caroline Street Stage starts at 8 p.m., and the unique Firework Show beginning at 9:30 p.m. This show will have a few surprised beyond the traditional show, the organizers said. It will be best viewed from the beach between the amusement pier and 3rd Street.
