Snow, Arctic Air Forecast For MD: See Timing
A storm system aiming for the East Coast will bring a dose of Arctic air and a touch of snow to Maryland to start the week, forecasts say.
Temperatures dropped well into the 30s overnight across Maryland, but the region will warm up with temperatures in the 50s and 60s through the weekend. Enjoy it while you can, because snow is in the forecast for Monday when the next cold front arrives.
The most significant cold weather system since last spring will spread across the eastern United States starting this weekend and lasting into early next week, bringing the first snow of the season to parts of the North, AccuWeather said.
"No accumulating snow is forecast to reach the Interstate 95 corridor of the Northeast. However, there is a chance of a stray snow shower occurring in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.," Monday into Tuesday, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

"Yes, we may already see our first flakes of the season next week Monday night into early Tuesday as a system works its way through the area," the Washingtonian Weather Geeks posted on X.
Snow showers may spread southward into the higher elevations of western Virginia, southern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, eastern Tennessee, and western North Carolina this weekend, with a coating of snow possible, the weather agency said.

“While most of the snow will melt quickly on area roads, the sudden drop in visibility and temporary slush can create dangerous conditions on the highways," AccuWeather Vice President of Forecast Operations Dan DePodwin said.
