Suspect Sought In Killing Of 10-Year-Old MD Boy, Reward Offered

Maryland police are working to identify a suspect in the death of 10-year-old Tyron Colbert Jr. of Salisbury. A $22,000 reward is available.

SALISBURY, MD — Maryland authorities are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 10-year-old Salisbury boy.

According to Maryland State Police, officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to a home in the 200 block of Clay Street in Salisbury around 10:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a 911 call about a shooting.

When police arrived, they found 10-year-old Tyron Colbert Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. According to police, Colbert was in the house with his mother and two other young children at the time of the shooting.

A suspect description is unknown at this time, police said. Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and residents in the area, and crime scene evidence was taken to the Maryland Police Forensic Sciences Division crime laboratory for analysis.

A reward of up to $22,000 is being offered by the FBI, Maryland Department of State Police and Crime Solvers of the Eastern Shore. Anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for Colbert's death may be eligible for the reward.
