The importance of knowing the warning signs for Alzheimer's disease is the theme of Garrett Davis' play Unforgettable. On Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 2 p.m., the final performance of the national production that has toured the country will be held at Empowerment Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 4217-4222 Primrose Avenue in Baltimore. The Alzheimer's Association has sponsored the play since 2022 which presents an important educational message in an engaging way.

It's free to attend
"We waived the cost to attend the play in hopes of filling every seat and reaching as wide an audience as possible," says Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager Marlyn Massey. Baltimore's dementia prevalence rate of 16.6 percent for residents age 65 and older is ranked among the nation's top three regions. "Educating the public about how early detection gives access to treatments that slow the progression of the disease helps improve health outcomes" says Massey. Schools, houses of worship, civic groups and any interested individuals are encouraged to attend this informative event that includes a jazz concert by a local artist, and a panel discussion by dementia experts.
