Anne Arundel County Exec Celebrates Halloween with Family Support Center Clients

County Executive Steve Schuh delivered candy to local children and their mothers.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – County Executive Steve Schuh today celebrated Halloween with the children and mothers who participate in the Maryland Family Network’s Family Support Centers, a program operated through the Department of Social Services.

“Halloween is a special time for children across our county,” said Schuh. “Nothing is more exciting than spending today delivering candy to some of our tiniest citizens!”

Dressed as an Anne Arundel County firefighter and arriving in an antique fire engine with Budget Officer John Hammond, Schuh and his staff delivered candy and other delicious treats to clients of the Annapolis Family Support Center at the Department of Social Services Office on West Street in downtown Annapolis.

Maryland’s Network of 26 Family Support Centers provide free, comprehensive services to families, targeting parents and their children from birth through age three. Funding is provided by the Maryland State Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, private foundations, corporations, and individuals.

The antique 1963 American LaFrance pumper fire engine is owned and operated by Annapolis Sons of the Signers, a local fraternal organization.
