BG&E Gas Line Repairs to Close Downtown Streets

BG&E repair work will require close Green Street between Main and Duke of Gloucester streets Jan. 12 and maybe Jan. 13.

From BGE: BGE recently identified the need to make repairs to a natural gas service in the 100 block of Green Street in downtown Annapolis.

This repair work will require a complete closure of Green Street between Main Street and Duke of Gloucester Street between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 and possibly into Friday, Jan. 13, 2017.

During the work hours, Green Street will remain open to pedestrian traffic, but will be closed for all vehicular traffic. BGE has worked closely with the City of Annapolis to avoid performing these repairs during hours that could impact buses traveling to and from Annapolis Elementary School.

If the resident has a driveway, they will be allowed to leave and return to their homes during the repairs. If the resident does not have a driveway and only has on-street parking with their property, the city is offering the Hillman Garage for the Green Street residents during the BGE repairs. Residents must show proof of address to park free of charge. Please note that the General Assembly is in session, so all parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

BGE requests customers call 800-685-0123 with questions. The contact center is able to obtain real-time updates on and off hours for customers.
