Burglars Ransack West Street Restaurant, Steal Booze

Burglars broke windows and took 6 bottles of liquor from the restaurant, police said.

Police are searching for burglars who broke into the Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge Wednesday and ransacked the business.

The 169 West St. restaurant's rear door was smashed by the burglars' entrance, according to the police report. Inside, a broken bottle of vodka and broken glass were strewn about the floor.

Six bottles of liquor were taken from the restaurant, estimated to be $159 in total value, according to police. Two of these bottles were later recovered in the area of West Street. 

When police arrived at 6 a.m., there were no suspects in the area. Police are now reviewing surveillance video for possible identification.
