Renaissance Harborplace Changes Ownership/Management this Past WKND, says CTMB-1.3
December 23, 2025 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of he Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting Breaking News: the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel has changed ownership/management from PM Hotel Group to GF Hotels & Resorts.
The "Charm'tastic Mile" this past Friday (9:00 AM) was contacted by various associates that the Renaissance Hotel-B'more was in receivership by the previous owners PM Hotel Group and was being taken over by GF Hotels & Resorts (Philadelphia).
The Renaissance Harborplace opened in the Spring of 1987. It has been a pillar of downtown business and the Inner Harbor for visiting tourists, locals of Charm City and around the State of Maryland. The hotel has 622 rooms and suites. Its location at 202 E. Pratt Street is centrally on The "Charm'tastic Mile" and close to the National Aquarium, MD Science Center, World Trade Building & the 2 Harborplace Pavilions.
Employees with over 25-years of service were concerned about paychecks and health benefits. The Renaissance is operated under the Marriott-flag (Bonvoy). The PM Hotel Group (Buccini/Pollin) acquired the Renaissance in July 2020 for 80 million dollars. The PM Hotel Group Corporate Office (Chevy Chase, MD.) & Marriott International Corporate Office (Bethesda, MD) are both located on Wisconsin Avenue, the DC-area.
Pollin (David B.) is a relative of Abe Pollin, the former owner of the Baltimore (1963-73) & Washington Bullets (NBA) that became the Washington Wizards in 1997. Mr Pollin is often credited with revitalizing Downtown-DC by building the Capital One Center, home of the Wizards and Capitals (NHL). Abe was a native of Philadelphia, he passed away on November 24, 2009 at the age of 85.
The Renaissance was the host-hotel for the ARMY Black Knights football team as they prepared to face the Navy Midshipmen in the 126th Annual ARMY vs NAVY Game this past December 13th. The game was played at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens. NAVY defeated ARMY 17-16.
