"Thanks to their rapid and coordinated efforts, the situation was brought under control quickly and safely," the Annapolis Fire Department said in a press release. "The Annapolis Fire and Explosives Services Unit conducted an investigation and determined that the fire was intentionally set, resulting from an altercation."

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department and the Naval District Washington Fire Department also assisted.

Patch asked the Annapolis Fire Department to identify the suspect, but a spokesperson declined to release the suspect's name, citing departmental policy.

"It is our policy not to release suspect information during an ongoing investigation. This policy is in place to maintain the integrity of investigative efforts, protect due process, and ensure the safety of all individuals involved," Lt. Tony Williams Jr. said in an email. "We remain committed to transparency and will provide updates as appropriate. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to resolve incidents thoroughly and professionally."
