Homeless Shelter Gifted 180K Masks, 50K Gloves To Fight Pandemic
An Annapolis homeless shelter was gifted 180,000 masks. The CDC still suggests wearing a face covering in congregate living settings.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Bank of America gifted a swath of personal protective equipment to The Light House Homeless Prevention Support Center in Annapolis. The shelter announced the donation on May 10.
"The Light House reaches some of our most vulnerable and underserved communities every day," stated Janet Currie, Greater Maryland president for Bank of America. "We’re grateful that through them, we’re able to provide support to our neighbors that may not have access to PPE."
The donation included 180,000 masks, 50,000 gloves and 10 cases of hand sanitizer. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still suggests wearing face coverings in congregate living facilities like homeless shelters.

- St. John’s College
"The Light House has experienced a heartbreaking surge in neighbors seeking our services this past year," Executive Director Jo Ann Mattson added, noting that the shelter has served 40 percent more locals during the coronavirus pandemic. "Keeping up with this increase has been a challenge ... we are so grateful for this donation and our friends at Bank of America."
