Unlike Most Of MD, Anne Arundel County Voted For Hogan In Senate Race
Anne Arundel's Senate vote was different than most of MD's. The presidential race and abortion measure followed statewide trends, however.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Anne Arundel followed statewide voting trends in the presidential race and the abortion referendum, but the county voted differently in the senatorial election.
Like most of Maryland, the majority of Anne Arundel County voters supported electing Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and approving the abortion referendum.
Unlike most of Maryland, Anne Arundel County voted for Republican senatorial nominee Larry Hogan by an 11-point margin. The former two-term governor, known for his bipartisan popularity and frequent anti-Trump stances, lives in Davidsonville.

Hogan hoped to earn a trip to Capitol Hill over Democratic nominee and current Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. However, many liberals were concerned that Hogan is personally opposed to abortion, though he supports codifying federal pro-choice legislation and opposes a national abortion ban.
The Associated Press projected that former Republican President Donald Trump defeated current Vice President Harris to earn a second term in the White House. The AP also projected that Alsobrooks beat Hogan to become Maryland's first Black Senator. The AP further projected that the abortion referendum passed, enshrining reproductive rights in the state Constitution.
