AACC Names Herr New Athletics Director

Anne Arundel Community College has named Duane Herr as its new interim athletics director for the start of the 2013-2014 school year.

Herr, of Severn, was a scholar-athlete on both AACC’s and Towson’s baseball teams, and was most recently a health, physical education and athletics assistant at the community college. Herr also contributed AACC sports articles to Patch on a regular basis.

Herr replaces Bruce Springer, who retired in May after 45 years at the community college, during which he served as an associate professor of health, fitness and exercise studies, a coach and the athletic coordinator.

AACC has also announced the hiring of two new coaches: Adriane Blake McDivitt of Glen Burnie as the AACC head volleyball coach and Robert J. McKinley of Crownsville, as assistant baseball coach.
