2nd Anne Arundel Police Officer Suspended On Assault Charge

A second Anne Arundel County police officer has been administratively suspended with pay after being charged with assault.

PASADENA, MD — A second Anne Arundel County police officer has been suspended with pay amid an assault investigation.

On Saturday, the police department said Sergeant B. Drabczyk was issued a criminal summons Friday by a Washington County District Court Commissioner after charges were filed by a community member. Those charges allege Drabczyk committed a second-degree assault in May.

Drabczyk, a 19-year veteran of the department assigned to the Bureau of Patrol, was off duty and not in uniform at the time of the alleged assault, according to police.

Maryland online court records show a Brandon Drabczyk, 43, of Pasadena, was issued a summons for a misdemeanor assault charge Dec. 19 in Washington County. The assault was reported May 25.

On Dec. 16, Corporal Kara Parks, a four-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department assigned to the Bureau of Community Services, was charged with second-degree assault, the agency said in a statement. Parks, a four-year veteran, was suspended with pay.

A charge of second-degree assault was filed in Washington County District Court on Dec. 15, leading to her suspension.

Authorities have not said if Parks and Drabczyk are being charged for the same assault case.
