Community United Figures Out Who Murdered the April Fool

The church hosted a dinner mystery show on Friday evening.

Community United Methodist Church hosted a night of murder and mystery on Friday when they hosted "Who Murdered the April Fool?", a dinner murder mystery where the guests got involved in solving the crime.

The event was part of a fundraising effort by the church to raise money for choir robes. The show was directed by Paul Warshauer of Murders 4 Fun, inc and the lead, Ivana DeDoughe, was played by actress Rhonda Weeks, while several other parts were played by churchgoers.

"I don't think I've ever done a fundraiser for choir robes before," said director Paul Warshauer. "It's a bit unusual, but it's a great community and everyone's been wonderful here."

"It's a lot of fun, it's interesting," said Chris Carrothers, who played agent and promoter Shecky McShifty. "It's more of an ad-libbed sort of thing, so it's really all shooting from the hip and instinct. It's really something a little bit different than trying to memorize a script and that makes the show a lot more dynamic."

"This is the first time our church has ever done anything like this," said  said event organizer Lynn. "The Lord put it on my heart and said 'just have a fun time and bring people together.' We've just enjoyed doing it!"
