Police: Man Stashed Stolen Goods in Pillowcase

Anne Arundel County police have charged a man with stealing items from area residences and driving in a stolen vehicle.

Robert Emala, Jr., 30, no fixed address, was arrested after police responded to the area of Thornton and Gillespie streets in Baltimore in reference to a stolen vehicle, according to a police report. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, Emala, fled into an alley, police said.

Officers reported finding several stolen items in the vehicle.

Detectives said a robber was using a pillowcase to remove property from residences. Some of the items found in the car driven by Emala matched property recently reported as stolen, according to the report.

Anne Arundel County police ask that anyone who was a recent victim of burglary to contact them in assisting to identify the stolen property. Anyone with information on this case or the suspect is asked to contact Detective Balonis or Detective Davis at 410-222-6135 at the Northern District Police Station.
