Cops Respond to One Casino Robbery, Find Another

Police: A man used a knife in both incidents.

Anne Arundel County police are looking for a man in an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery Sunday at the Maryland Live! Casino at Arundel Mills.

Officers arrived at the casino at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, responding to a report of an attempted armed robbery, and learned of an earlier incident.

In the earlier incident, a 35-year-old woman was in her vehicle in the casino garage when a man pointed a knife at her and demanded money when she opened her car door. She handed the man an unspecified amount of money and the man fled, according to police.

In the incident that led police to the scene, a 71-year-old woman was approached around 7:44 a.m. Sunday by the man, who attempted to rob her at knifepoint. Police said the woman told officers she was about to enter an elevator at the casino when the man approached. The man tried but failed to take the woman's purse, then fled.

The man is described as a white, in his 20s, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a skinny build. At the time of the robberies, he was wearing glasses, a white baseball cap with a logo on the front and a green T-shirt, green cargo shorts and dark flip-flops.
