Erik Smith, 36, of Glen Burnie was arrested after allegedly assaulting a victim with his vehicle at Safeway on Mountain Road.

A Glen Burnie man was arrested after police said he assaulted a 43-year-old man with his vehicle at Safeway on Mountain Road.
According to a police press release, Erik Smith, 36, accelerated his vehicle toward the man in the parking lot at Safeway, hitting him with the vehicle's mirror after the victim jumped out of the way. Police said Smith then stopped the vehicle, backed up and accelerated toward the man again. While the man wasn't hit again, Smith struck a parked vehicle before parking his own vehicle and entering the Safeway.
Police entered the store and arrested Smith, who was transported to Eastern District and charged with first- and second-degree assault along with multiple traffic violations.
