Lottery Winner Scores Over $100K, Plans To Visit Mom In Vegas
A $133,000 lottery prize was a "life changer" for an Anne Arundel County woman. She will pay bills and visit her mother in Las Vegas.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie woman recently won $133,542 on a second-chance lottery prize. She plans to use her winnings to pay bills and visit her mother in Las Vegas.
Jenelle Ballard was at work on March 11 when she got a phone call informing her that she was a winner.
"I was so excited I couldn't breathe. My boss came in and gave me a fist pump," the 58-year-old said when she collected her prize from Maryland Lottery headquarters on St. Patrick's Day.

Ballard, a grocery store employee of 16 years, usually works six days a week and is excited about the vacation.
"My kids always tell me to throw my scratch-offs away, but I said to them, 'those are points,'" she stated in a press release, referring to the lottery's rewards program.

The victory came on a Monopoly-themed scratch-off. This line of games debuted in January with six tickets ranging in price from $1 to $30.
Non-winning tickets can be entered into My Lottery Rewards to automatically be entered into the Monopoly Second-Chance Promotion for a chance to win a rolling cash jackpot or cash prize.
Ballard is the first of three rolling cash jackpot winners. The jackpots start at $10,000 and grow until their drawings. The next rolling cash jackpot winner will be announced during the May 6 drawing, while five $5,000 winners will be selected each month through July 1. The next deadline for a $5,000 prize is April 7.
"I appreciate this. It is a life changer for me. This will help me a lot," Ballard said in the release.
