Jessup Pastor, Former Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing 5 Victims

Authorities said the man is accused of abusing at least two students at an Anne Arundel County Christian school.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A Jessup pastor and former teacher at an Anne Arundel County Christian school is facing multiple charges after authorities said he sexually abused at least five people, including minors.

William Auburn Jones, 58, of Gambrills, was arrested Friday and charged with sexual abuse of a minor, fourth-degree sexual offense and child abuse following an investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department's Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit.

According to police, on May 1, officers responded to Elvaton Christian Academy in Millersville for a report of a sex offense complaint. Officers met with the mother of a student who accused a former teacher of inappropriate sexual behavior toward her child.

While at the school, officers met with another parent who also accused the teacher of similar inappropriate sexual behavior toward her child, police said.

Investigators later determined the teacher was Jones, who was employed by Elvaton Christian Academy from 2020 to 2025. Jones is also the pastor of Jessup Baptist Church in Jessup, Maryland, and is affiliated with the global missionary organization Mission Fields International.

During the investigation, police conducted additional interviews and identified three other victims who authorities said were sexually assaulted by Jones.

Mission Fields International and Jessup Baptist Church did not immediately return Patch's request for comment.

Although an arrest has been made, the Anne Arundel County Police Department urges anyone with information regarding these incidents or Jones to contact the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit at 410-222-4733.
