"There’s an undeniable inherent curiosity factor among some members of the audience as to what a Hollywood actor/director/producer is doing performing in a band. But a couple of songs in and crowds forget the celebrity aspect and embrace the music for what it is," according to the Ram's Head press release.
The band was formed in 2007 after encouragement from Costner's wife to pursue a childhood fascination with music. Costner's early inspirations include Motown and The Four Seasons, along with Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton and Neil Young.
Costner met with musician John Coinman on the set of the 2006 film The Guardian, and the two hit it off, creating the nine-member Kevin Costner & Modern West.
The band will perform at Ram's Head On Stage April 15 at 8 p.m. For more information on the show, check the Ram's Head website.
