Local Teen Inventor Andraka Featured on Colbert Report

Local highschooler Jack Andraka joked with Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central's cable TV show "The Colbert Report" this week.

Andraka, a 16-year-old student at North County High School, stepped into the national spotlight after creating a revolutionary paper-based sensor that can accurately and efficiently detect pancreatic cancer at a cost of only 3 cents. 

For the invention, Andraka won the top prize at the Intel International Science and Engineering fair—the world's largest pre-college science competition—in May.
