MD Heat Wave Could Break Temperature Records, Real Feel May Eclipse 110 Degrees
Scorching heat could break temperature records in Maryland. The real feel may eclipse 110 degrees as a heat wave blankets the Mid-Atlantic.

Temperatures could top 100 degrees and break records Tuesday in Maryland. With real-feel temperatures of up to 111 degrees, another extreme heat warning covers most of the state.
Tuesday's expected high at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is 101 degrees. The highest temperature ever recorded on June 24 at BWI Airport was 100 degrees in 2010.
"A strong dome of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will maintain hot & humid conditions across the area," the National Weather Service said on its website. "Additional daily temperature records are possible today for both highs and warm overnight lows."

"An isolated storm or two cannot be ruled out near the central Blue Ridge," the NWS said on Tuesday. "Otherwise, the better shot for showers and thunderstorms come during the mid to late week period as the ridge weakens and a cold front nears the Mason-Dixon Line."
Friday will offer a slight reprieve with a high of 79, but temperatures will return to the upper 80s and low 90s Saturday through at least Monday.
The heat wave will "envelop 170 million Americans through late June," AccuWeather reported.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Jacob Hinson called it "dangerous heat."
"Vulnerable people, such as the elderly or young children, are most susceptible to heat-related illness," Hinson said. "Caution should be taken if spending any appreciable amount of time outside, such as by staying hydrated with non-alcoholic beverages, taking frequent breaks and seeking shade."
