Welcome to Moms Talk Q&A! This week's question:
Q: My husband and I are planning a trip to the beach soon with my toddler. I was curious if anyone has any ideas to share of activities or toys that are nice to take along to keep my daughter entertained on the beach?

We just got back from vacation with our kids, and we took a small, inflatable baby pool with us to set up for times when the kids wanted to play in the water, but we didn't feel like going out into the ocean with them. Sand toys are also a must-have, in my opinion. On our first trip to the beach this summer, I was amazed at how many hours my son played with his sand buckets and shovels.

We always take buckets to the beach. They make it easier for my little one to make sandcastles and to collect sea shells. Â Small shovels are essential. You just never know what you might find out there and once you get on that beach, your toddler might find playing in the sand to be quite fascinating.
Jennifer Davis:
f course sand toys are a must, a (foam) Frisbee and a ball for catch. A kite can also be a lot fun and a stick to write their names in the sand.. Also collecting seashells, you can take them and make imprints in the sand with them and save the seashells for when you get home to make a picture frame. Just buy a cheap frame at the dollar store, have your toddler arrange the shells around the frame as he or she wants them and then you can glue them for him or her. This way it makes him or her a part of the craft and he or she will have fun doing it! Another idea is to have dad dig a hole around sand castles turning it into a moat. The dollar store sells great little dolls and little alligators toys to go along with the theme. For the most part though I think a bucket and shovel will do wonders to occupy his or her time! I hope these ideas help!
