The Anne Arundel County Police Department started rolling out dozens of speed cameras in June 2024.

A total of 51,544 speeding tickets have been mailed as of May 7. Of those, 32,233 violations have been paid. Unpaid citations could result from pending court outcomes, transfer of liability or failure to respond.

Patch contacted police for updated data on issued and paid tickets. Officers have not yet replied. We will update this article if they respond.

The fine is $40 for traveling 12 mph or more above the speed limit. Red light tickets will cost $75.

"The main thing we want people to be aware of is the presence of the cameras, in both school zones and residential areas throughout the county," Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesperson Marc Limansky told Patch in a May email.
