Pasadena Residents Concerned with Burglary Suspect

The suspect is believed to have broken into two houses in the area on March 24.

Pasadena residents are concerned after yesterday's police reports of a suspected burglar and sexual predator that is believed to have broken into residences on Centergate Court and 204th Street.

Reports on the male suspect came in at 2:52 a.m. and 3:41 a.m. on March 24. The first victim, a 28-year-old female, awoke to find the suspect in her bedroom. She yelled for him to get out and he fled, then she contacted police. During the subsequent search for the suspect, another victim called in to report that she had awoke to find an unknown suspect touching her in a sexual manner; the suspect then fled. Police believe that the two incidents are related and involve the same suspect.

"We will have an increased presence in the area, we have alerted residents through our district Nixle page and we will be handing out fliers at some point," said Anne Arundel County Public Information officer Justin Mulcahy.

"It really concerns me," said Steven Johnes from Pasadena. "I really hope they catch this guy soon. It's the kind of think that makes you worry about your wives, daughters and friends."

"This kind of person really shouldn't be on the streets," added Johnes.

"It's a sad day when you have to triple-check that your doors are locked in a community like this," said Betty Webb from Pasadena.

"I'm just wondering what the police are doing that they haven't caught someone like this yet," said Dave Preston, a Glen Burnie resident. "This kind of criminal is a threat to everyone in this area, not just people in Pasadena. Who knows what he might do?"
