Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Anne Arundel County Crash: Police

A pedestrian was fatally struck in an Anne Arundel County crash, police said. He was 53 years old.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said 53-year-old pedestrian Artur Calero Tavor of Glen Burnie was fatally struck Thursday while crossing the 7100 block of Crain Highway South.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A pedestrian was fatally struck in a recent Glen Burnie crash, police said.

Officers identified the victim as 53-year-old Artur Calero Tavor of Glen Burnie. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene, a press release said.

Authorities said a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu sedan hit the victim Thursday around 11:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of Crain Highway South. The Chevrolet driver immediately stopped and remained on the scene.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing from a nearby business and wasn't in a crosswalk when he walked into the path of the Chevrolet.

Officers said a surveillance video shows that a second vehicle, an unknown dark-colored SUV, also hit the victim but did not stop.
