Police: Armed Carjacker Arrested, Another Flees After Wreck

Two suspected carjackers wrecked a stolen car, and one man escaped police.

Police seized a machete, rifle and mask from a man in connection to an armed carjacking in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County police arrested one of two men believed to be involved in an armed carjacking on Monday at 6:28 a.m. on Allen Road in Glen Burnie.

Police said two men reportedly armed with guns approached a man in his car, ordering him out of the vehicle. Police then tracked the vehicle until it crashed on the exit ramp of Route 695 west onto Route 2.

One of the men was reportedly injured in the wreck, and was taken to Harbor Hospital before being arrested on any charges. A second suspect fled on foot, police said.

Dervin Jahmal Evans, 33, of Washington DC, was arrested, but his charges had not yet been filed into the Maryland Judiciary Case Log as of the posting of this article.

In the vehicle, police seized a 9mm Carbine rifle, machete, hat, mask and other items not yet identified by authorities.

The second suspect is described by police as a black man in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with dark skin and short hair.
