UPDATE: Police Chase Leads to Fatal Crash
A suspect was run off the road after a police chase Wednesday afternoon.

A man who was speeding, driving eratically and refused to stop when spotted by a Maryland State Police (MSP) trooper died after he lost control of his truck and hit a tree late Wednesday afternoon in Pasadena, police said.
The driver, who has been only identified as a white adult man, was not the registered owner of the 1998 Dodge Dakota he was operating, but it is not believed to have been stolen, according to a release from the Maryland State Police.
At about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, a trooper saw the Dakota swerving back and forth within a travel lane as he sat on the shoulder of southbound Route 10 just south of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. The truck's speed was measured at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone.

After the driver saw the trooper, police said he pulled into the slow lane closer to the trooper and continued to cause his truck to swerve. He lost control of his truck and went into a 360-degree turn. The trooper turned on the emergency lights on his marked car and pulled up to the truck that was stopped in the fast lane. The driver immediately accelerated and drove away from the trooper, when the tropper turned on his siren.
The driver did not stop and took eastbound Route 100 and continued to pass cars while driving through the median. After swerving across both lanes of eastbound traffic on Route 100, the truck hit a guardrail, traveled up a slight embankment and turned onto its left side before the roof of the truck hit a tree that was about 20 feet off the road, police said.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene, where the driver was pronounced dead.
One lane of Route 100 was closed during the crash investigation and reopened shortly after 9 p.m.
Investigation into the crash is continuing and is being conducted by advanced accident reconstructionists on the Maryland State Police CRASH Team. A motive for the driver's behavior has not yet been established.
