Police: 81-Year-Old Woman Robbed While Loading Groceries at Walmart

Police said a man robbed an elderly woman in Glen Burnie while she was loading groceries into her car at Walmart.

The incident took place Nov. 12, but authorities recently made an arrest in the case. 

Anne Arundel County police have charged Duane Dayton Lochary, 48, of Spring Avenue in Halethorpe, with second-degree robbery and theft of under $1,000, according to a press release.

An 81-year-old female victim told police that she had been robbed by a man who pulled up beside her vehicle, grabbed a wallet on her belt loop and fled.

Police investigators said the man appeared to have been circling the parking lot for several minutes. 

Ten days later, detectives identified a suspect and tracked him to his home in Halethorpe, where they arrested him, and found evidence linking him to the incident, according to the release.
