"I can confirm that there was an explosion on board," Macallair told Patch.

Officals said they were called at 9:29 a.m. to a marina in the 4800 block of Woods Wharf Road. That's located along Parish Creek.

First responders said there was no active fire upon arrival, but they did find the victim aboard the sailboat. The boat was in the water and tied to a pier.

Macallair said the sailboat is still in the water. It did not sink, and there is no threat to the environment.
