Preliminary Interviews to be held for SMOB Candidates
Brandon Quade of Northeast High School is one of the eight possible student members of the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, according to a recent press release.
Eight high school juniors representing schools around the county have filed applications to become the student member on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County.
The candidates include honor roll student Brandon Quade of Northeast High School.
Preliminary interviews take place Monday which will reduce the eight candidates to three. The winner will serve a one-year term on the Board during their senior year of high school and will receive a $6000 college scholarship.
The three finalists will take place in a Candidates Night on March 9 at the Parham Building in Annapolis, while elections will take place on March 24 at the Chesapeake Arts Center in Brooklyn Park. The winner of the election will be appointed by Gov. Martin O'Malley.
