Sun: County Withdraws Waiver Request
Anne Arundel County withdraws request to be exempt from a state educational requirement mandating funding, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday that Anne Arundel County withdrew the waiver request from the maintenance of effort requirement, according to state board of education officials.
The county school board, which asked the state to dismiss Leopold’s request last week, opposed the request made by County Executive John Leopold.
Joe Burris, the Sun’s Inside Ed blog author, wrote: “Leopold withdrew the request the following day, stating that the county will meet the requirement when it includes a debt service line item in the budget, a move opposed by the school board.”
