Suspects Apprehended Regarding Mountain Road Burglary
A third suspect is still under investigation.
A man and a teen from Laurel have been arrested in connection to a robbery that took place on Mountain Road Thursday night.
Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Mountain Road for a report of an armed robbery. According to police, the victim and a relative were in the victim's garage when they were approached by the man and the teen while a third waited nearby. One suspect displayed a handgun and both suspects demanded money from the victim, who did not give them any. Shortly thereafter two more of the victim's relatives arrived from inside the residence to assist the victims, police said.
The suspects began to flee and a struggle took place. The victims, their relatives and a neighbor held down one suspect while officers took the second suspect into custody when they arrived.
The identity and location of the other suspect is still under investigation.
Paul Rashon Atterberry, 17, and 20-year-old Delonte Preston Thomas of Laurel, were both charged with robbery, armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, first-, third- and fourth-degree assault and related charges.
