Tackled Thief Draws Knife on Teen
The suspect drew a knife and attempted to slash the boy, but cut only his pants, police said.

A 15-year-old boy tackled a thief, who then drew a knife and slashed at him, police said.Â
The boy, who police did not name, said he saw a suspect wearing a black face mask taking a FedEx package from the front steps of his home in the 900 block of Holly Avenue in Edgewater on Monday at about 4:30 p.m.Â
The boy chased the suspect down and tackled him. The suspect then drew a knife slashing at the boy, but only cut his pants, according to the police report.Â
The suspect then fled on foot without the package, headed in the direction of Third Avenue. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6'3" tall, with a muscular build, and was last seen wearing all black clothing with a black face mask, according to the report.
