Big-Box Store Remodeling 3 Anne Arundel County Locations
A big-box store is renovating these three Anne Arundel County locations this year. Here's what customers can expect.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Walmart announced Wednesday that it will renovate eight stores in Maryland, including three in Anne Arundel County, this year.
The Walmarts slated for a remodel are:
- La Vale (12500 Country Club Mall Road)
- Pasadena (8107 Governor Ritchie Highway)
- Denton (610 Legion Road)
- Glen Burnie (6721 Chesapeake Center Drive)
- Aberdeen (645 S. Philadelphia Blvd.)
- Severn (407 George Claus Blvd.)
- Rosedale (6420 Petrie Way Road)
- Arbutus (3601 Washington Blvd.)
This is part of Walmart’s plans to update 650 stores nationwide starting this year.

The remodels call for:
- New Look: Big, bold signage. Exciting new displays to better showcase merchandise.
- More Selection: Expanded departments. New items. More of what customers are looking for.
- Expanding Online Pickup & Delivery: To fulfill the growing number of online customer orders.
- Reimagined Pharmacy: Wider aisles. New private screening room. Privacy checkout areas.
Walmart previously invested $106 million in upgrading Maryland stores over the past five years.

Walmart has 57 retail units and over 17,200 employees in the state.
The big box store said it invests in its workers, offering promotions and bonuses. The business, named this month in the Fortune 100 Best Companies To Work For, contributes to its staff's college tuition. Employees are also eligible for 20 no-cost therapy sessions and stock purchase plans with a company match.
"Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role," said Annie Walker, senior vice president of Walmart's East business unit. "By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part ot the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all."
Walmart said it gave back to Maryland when it:
- Donated a total of $7.6 million to empower local communities in Maryland in fiscal year 2024.
- Donated more than 3.9 million pounds of food to local food banks in Maryland in fiscal year 2025, which is the equivalent of 3.3 million meals.
- Spent $3.5 billion with Maryland suppliers in fiscal year 2024 to support more than 22,500 supplier jobs across the state.
