Woman Dead, Man Hurt After South County Crash: Police

A South County crash killed a woman, police said. She was 61. The collision also hospitalized a man.

GALESVILLE, MD — A woman died, and a man was hospitalized in a recent Galesville crash, police said.

Officers identified the deceased as Patricia Lynn Warren, 61, of Shady Side.

Authorities said the crash happened Saturday around 12:14 p.m. at Muddy Creek Road and Old Sudley Road.

Police said Warren was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius north on Muddy Creek Road, and a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was heading south.

The Toyota crossed over the double-yellow line and struck the Chevrolet head-on, officers said.

Authorities said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded and pronounced Warren dead at the scene.

A press release said medics took the Chevrolet driver, age 20, to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He is expected to survive.
