During the period Jan. 22-29, AVFD received 77 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Jan. 25: At 8:47 a.m., a fall injury was reported on the 1900-block of Edmonson Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Jan. 25: At 4:31 p.m., a flooded basement was reported on the 5500-block of Council Street in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and removed several feet of water from the basement.

Jan. 27: At 6 a.m., a pedestrian struck by a vehicle was reported on the 4300-block of Southwestern Boulevard in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Jan. 27: At 1:05 p.m., a report of power lines down at Selford Road at Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus was made. Crews from the AVFD responded and secured the hazard while waiting for BGE.

Jan. 27: At 6:53 p.m., an unconscious person was reported on the 500-block of Kent Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded. One critically ill person was taken to a local hospital.
