Baltimore Co. Powerball Player Wins $50K; Jackpot Climbs To $1.6B

BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore County resident won $50,000 playing Powerball last week, according to the Maryland Lottery. Monday's jackpot has grown to $1.6 billion.

Four players in Maryland were off by one in the past week and claimed $50,000 third-tier wins.

The four winners — one each in Bowie, Gwynn Oak, Hagerstown and Stevensville — were among 26 Maryland Lottery scores of $10,000 or more in the past week.

The jackpot has hit an estimated annuity value of $1.6 billion for the drawing Monday night, with an estimated one-time payment option of $735.3 million.

A $50,000 ticket was sold Dec. 17 at Speedy Mart at 1697 North Forest Park Ave. in Gwynn Oak, the lottery said. The prize was unclaimed as of Dec. 22.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only.

The other $50,000 winners playing Powerball last week are:

  • Ticket sold Dec. 15 at the 7-Eleven at 6860 Racetrack Road in Bowie (unclaimed as of Dec. 22)
  • Ticket sold Dec. 17 at Love’s Travel Stop at 18434 Showalter Road in Hagerstown (unclaimed as of Dec. 22)
  • Ticket sold Dec. 19 at the Dash In at 401 Thompson’s Creek Road in Stevensville (unclaimed as of Dec. 22)
