During the period Sept. 4-11, AVFD received 91 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:
Sept. 5: At 12:12 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 5500-block of Council Street in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded and extinguished the fire.

Sept. 6: At 2:19 p.m., an apartment fire was reported on the unit block of South Symington Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded. A basement fire was extinguished.
Sept. 6: At 9:54 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on Wilkens Avenue at I-695 in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Sept. 8: At 6:61 a.m., a swiftwater rescue was reported at Gwynn Oak Avenue at Purnell Drive in Woodlawn. Crews form the Woodlawn and Arbutus volunteer stations and Catonsville, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded. One person was rescued from a vehicle in the water. No injuries were reported.
Sept. 9: At 8:29 p.m., an assault with injury was reported on the 3200-block of Tartarian Court in Lansdowne. Crews from the Lansdowne and Arbutus volunteer stations responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
