Bally Cuts Ribbon at Lansdowne Station Facility

State-of-the-art fitness center draws crowds.

Local dignitaries and scores of residents were on hand Sept. 17 for the ribbon-cutting at Bally Sports Club at Lansdowne Station shopping center.

The new facility has a lap pool and jacuzzi, two racquetball courts, a kickboxing room and other features.

"This is the first of our new generation of Bally Sport Club," said Dennis Cary, the company's chief marketing officer.

Several elected officials were on hand for the ribbon-cutting, which was done by 92Q radio personality M.C. Pork Chop, including state delegates Steve DeBoy and James Malone, and councilmen Tom Quirk and Kenneth Oliver.

Bally is the latest examples of economic growth that has occurred along the Washington Boulevard corridor, DeBoy said.

"It's a good time for economic development in southwest Baltimore County," he said.
