Baltimore's Maryland Crabs Nominated as Top 20 Iconic American Foods

Baltimore's Maryland crabs are listed among the 20 regional specialties selected for the Best Iconic American food category by USA TODAY's expert panel.
"They're the history of Maryland," Phillips Seafood executive chef Bill Sexton told WBAL-TV Baltimore.
USA TODAY announced the launch of the 10 Best Readers' Choice Travel Awards on June 26. Readers vote for their favorite destinations, experiences and amenities in a new travel award category each week.
This week, people will be voting in the Best Iconic American Foods category. Voting ends at 11:59 a.m. Monday, July 22, and the winner will be revealed on 10 Best.com and USA TODAY on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.
Other cities' iconic foods in the running include Atlanta's southern fried chicken, Chicago's Italian beef sandwiches, New York's pastrami and more.
